This is the latest painting to my Mystery-Series and it's called "The Forgotten". I concepted it for a double page layout but each page should also be able to work as a "stand alone" single page illustration. I did not counted the amount of hours I was working on it, countless times of revisiting and changes. Done in Photoshop for compositing, Painter and Poser. This piece is a tribute to one of my favorite old-time Sci-fi movies: Barbarella - Queen of the Galaxy. I tried to reference to the legendary costume-design and bring in some clear lines and shapes to create a new fresh look. I hope you goanna like it, critiques and comments are most welcome.

I done this for some nostalgic reasons and as a tribute to the old Sci-Fi movies of my childhood like Buck Rogers, Thunderbirds and early black and white movies. I tried to keep up with the style and color scheme of that era and mix it with modern editorial styles.

Neela is out to walk Barney, the dog of Kate's neighbour, and as usual she buys a lot of gifts for all her friends.

I done this painting mainly by using the "Just add water" Blender in Painter (yes! you can actually apply paint with the blenders brushes). The Smudge Tool in Photoshop was used on the dogs fur.
